ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB TASKS
1. 35% |
Collaborate with senior leadership to understand and implement AcenTek’s goals and strategies related to all aspects of Human Resources. Tasks may include plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training initiatives, etc.: administer or oversee the administration of human resource programs; be a resource for employees and provide support; communicate changes in policy, procedures, and resources; monitor and ensure the organizations’ compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommend best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance; translate HR strategies into actionable goals for performance and growth; create and deliver presentations to management/Board of Directors; advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relation issues and policy matters; respond to all employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs; consult legal counsel; oversee the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or other departments; represent organization at personnel related hearings and investigations; maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law; update and maintain staff records; prepare and submit documents for regulatory reporting; prepare detailed/statistical reports; lead organizational projects; and foster a culture that promotes ethical practices and encourages maximum performance and individual integrity. Monitored by the CEO through observation, periodic meetings, reporting, and consideration of feedback from employees.

Administer compensation, benefits, performance management system, and safety and wellness programs for the purpose of supporting employee satisfaction and retention. Tasks may include analyze and update wage and salary reports; salary administration; conduct and participate in wage surveys; coordinate and negotiate with TPAs to develop/update benefit programs and advise CEO and Board of Directors; research, understand, and interpret benefit plans, enroll employees in all benefit programs; ensure terminations/changes are made in benefit plans; resolve disputes; administer leave polices and COBRA benefit; collaborate with Accounting Department and update payroll system; review and approve all invoices and billing enrollments; update and implement employee handbook and ensure legal compliance; ensure completion of performance reviews; review and process reviews/compensation; oversee productivity, recognition, and morale; inspire and motivate employees; oversee occupational health and safety; oversee training and development; create and present various trainings; advise on disciplinary matters, perform investigations; prepare employee separation notices and related documentation; conduct exit interviews; and demonstrate consistent communication. Monitored by the CEO via reporting, observation, and consideration of feedback from employees.

Lead, motivate, and develop the Human Resources Department capable of carrying out needed HR strategies for the purpose of meeting organizational goals and objectives. Tasks may include plan, prioritize, and delegate work tasks; monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching; complete annual performance evaluations; set goals for performance; ensure AcenTek’s policies and procedures are being followed and any applicable laws; review processes and procedures for every day operations of departments; hire employees and determine compensation; and provide leadership and advice to employees to support problem solving and identify solutions; and develop and implement departmental budget. Monitored by the CEO through observation and consideration of employee feedback.

Develop and implement strategies for overall employment needs of AcenTek for the purpose of achieving AcenTek’s workforce goals. Tasks may include identify and forecast staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management; interview and select employees to fill vacant positions; ensure job descriptions and interview materials are relevant; contract with outside vendors for employee services; oversee and participate in onboarding process; facilitate professional development, training and certifications for employees; oversee training programs; and oversee continuous improvement plan. Monitored by the CEO through consideration of feedback from supervisors/managers, periodic meetings, and observation.

Remain current on Human Resources developments for the purpose of providing employees the most current opportunities. Tasks may include reading industry resources; meeting or talking with industry experts, attending conventions, seminars, and other industry meetings, and maintain memberships and certification. Monitored by CEO via expense report review and direct conversation.

(Continually looks for new and improved ways of completing the above functions. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor will be performed in order to address unexpected situations or needs that may arise.)
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position includes full responsibility and accountability to the Chief Executive Officer to implement Human Resources objectives effectively and efficiently as they align to overall business objectives. This position requires problem solving independently and with a team. Requires delegating tasks to others and informal/formal training of others. Position provides performance feedback to others and completes performance evaluations. Position has internal and external contact at all organizational levels. This position requires negotiation, persuasion, and diplomacy internally with all departments and externally with customers, vendors, and government agencies. |
LATITUDE: Most duties are self-defined with complete flexibility in scheduling and accomplishing responsibilities. Problem solving is often done independently and requires extensive managerial and Human Resources knowledge. Decisions are made independently based on company policy. This position makes decisions involving hiring and compensation. |
IMPACT OF POSITION: Errors are unlikely to be detected and are not subject to detailed review. Duties involve the preparation of data on which Management bases important decisions. |
CUSTOMER SERVICE/INTERACTION: Daily personal, phone, email, and written contact with employees all employees. Weekly phone, email, personal, and some written contact with vendors. Monthly phone contact with customers. |
