ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB TASKS

1. 40%

Performs Human Resources related duties on a professional level for the purpose of supporting the goals and role of the Human Resources Department. Tasks may include assisting with the recruiting process, onboarding, scheduling of and documentation of employee training/requirements, administering Workers Compensation Plan, maintaining OSHA logs, reporting, and compliance. Maintaining and administering AcenTek’s keyless entry system. Performing a wide range of duties relative to the maintenance and processing of personnel records and reports while maintaining high standards of confidentiality with this information. Assisting employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of policies and procedures. Updating and maintaining department spending. Assisting HR Manager with various projects. Monitored by the HR Manager through direct observation and communication.

 

2. 30%

Maintains the position of Safety Coordinator for the purpose of ensuring the company safety program, policies, and procedures are followed and in compliance. Tasks may include scheduling and leading Safety Committee Meetings, coordinating required company safety training and completing documentation of such. Responsible for updating and maintaining Safety Policies and Procedures and communicating these with employees and our Safety Consultant. Schedules and maintains documentation of individual employee safety training requirements. Monitored by the HR Manager through direct observation and reports.

 

3. 20%

Coordinates company travel for employees for the purpose of ensuring itineraries are accurate and expenses are cost effective. Tasks may include booking flights, hotel rooms, and conferences. Review expense reports and ensure accuracy. Communicates with employees clearly in person or via email what the travel plans are. Monitored by the HR Manager through direct observation and reports.

 

4. 10%

Plans company events for the purpose of supporting companywide morale. Tasks may include scheduling events, coordinating location of events, contacting caterers, or purchasing food for the events, maintaining birthday and anniversary information, assisting with set up for and clean up from events, and communication to all employees of each event. Monitored by the Human Resources Manager via direct observation.

 

(Continually looks for new and improved ways of completing the above functions. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor will be performed in order to address unexpected situations or needs that may arise.)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position includes full responsibility and accountability to the Human Resources Manager to comply with all Professional Human Resources practices. Position is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality of information. Requires effective communication with employees and outside vendors, problem solving individually and with a team, and completing tasks independently and within a team. Member of Company Committees

LATITUDE:

Most duties are self-determined, planned, and arranged by performer. Problem solving is accomplished by performer independently most of the time. Most decisions not affecting other departments can be made independently. Makes purchase decisions within budgetary limitations.

IMPACT OF POSITION:

Successful completion of essential job tasks supports the purpose and vision of the Human Resources Department within the company. Errors are easily detected and would result in minor clerical expense for correction. Errors usually impact a single department or phase of the company.

CUSTOMER SERVICE/INTERACTION:

Daily phone, email, and personal contact with employees. Daily phone and email to outside vendors for scheduling of trainings, events, travel, etc. Monthly phone or email with potential employees.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: Associates or bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management Willingness to become a SHRM member.

EXPERIENCE:

5 or more years of experience without an Associate or bachelor’s degree 0-1 years’ experience with a degree in HR Management
